Project Description: This project involved the construction of a large facility with multiple spans using a combination of precast concrete elements and timber rafters and bracing. This innovative approach presented a challenge for the engineering team, requiring careful consideration of all loads and meticulous integration of different materials. The benefits of this approach included faster construction times and enhanced quality control with precast efficiency, as well as the natural aesthetic and sustainability of timber as a building material. The structure was also optimized for efficiency and lightweight. To ensure the success of this hybrid approach, comprehensive shop drawings were developed for all elements, including precise dimensions, detailed connections, and reinforcement drawings.Throughout the design process, potential loads the facility would experience were meticulously analyzed, including dead loads, live loads, and environmental loads.
