Project Description: The owner wanted to expand their home's living space by adding an elevated deck to one side of the building. The design aimed to create a seamless connection between the new deck and existing slabs, with a focus on thermal isolation. This required careful planning and the use of specific materials. The chosen system included reinforced concrete slabs and carrying beams for the deck, and steel sections for the roof structure. Foamglass was used for thermal isolation and as a structural element, resulting in a functional and thermally efficient addition to the owner's residence.
